DOW provides funding to domestic violence programs to provide direct services to victims and survivors of domestic violence. Agencies are contracted to provide the following, or a combination of the following, services:
- Housing, shelter, and rental assistance
- Basic needs – hygiene, clothing, and food items
- 24-hour hotline and emergency response
- Victim advocacy (financial, housing, medical, employment, education, immigration, etc.)
- Transportation
- Interpretation and Translation
- Legal advocacy (can include representation in high-risk situations, but also information, referral, know-your-rights, pro-bono training and legal clinics/seminars)
- Medical accompaniment
- Individual or group counseling
- Children’s services
- Community education, training, and awareness
