10-month Intensive Fellowship in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health and Early Relational Health at the Center for Autism and Early Childhood Mental Health at Montclair State University

This 10-month continuing education program offers professionals the opportunity to examine the emerging field of early relational health and the work of infant and early childhood mental health. The program is designed for professionals who work in the fields of psychology, counseling, social work, education, pediatrics, nursing, home visiting, early intervention, early care and education, child protection, and other allied health fields, focusing on the relationship between infants, young children and their families.

The content builds upon the learning of the Keeping Babies and Children in Mind: Professional Formation Series in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health, and meets all competencies for the Infant Family Associate and Infant Family Specialist Endorsements through the New Jersey Association for Infant Mental Health (NJ-AIMH Endorsement).

  • Applications are accepted through September 12th, 2025.
  • Acceptances will be issued on a rolling basis through September 19th, 2025.
  • Confirmation of enrollment and $50 deposit is due October 1st, 2025.

120 Hours of Instruction

The 10-month Intensive runs from October 2025 through July 2026 with an average of two learning sessions per month, mostly on Wednesday evenings and full day Saturdays. Fellows will also be provided readings to complete in advance of each session.
The first full class date on Saturday, October 4th will occur in person at Montclair State University. The final class is a completion ceremony in September that takes place in person. All other meetings occur virtually.

24 hours of Reflective Supervision / Consultation from an Infant Mental Health Endorsed Reflective Consultant is included!

  • The cost for the 10-month Intensive Fellowship is $3,500, payable in 10 equal installments of $350 per month due on the 1st of each month. A deposit of $50 is due upon acceptance. Cash, check or credit accepted.
  • Application requires attendance at ONE informative group interview session.
  • Mandatory virtual information sessions/interviews will be held on the following dates.
  • Registration for the group interview takes place on the application form.
  • The Zoom link for the informative group interview is also found on the application form.

Meets all Competencies of the NJ-AIMH Endorsement (nj-aimh.org/endorsement)

Fellows will learn advanced topics in infancy and early childhood development, emotional and relational health, assessment and intervention strategies, and systems working to support infants, children, and families in the first eight years of life, meeting all competencies in Theoretical Foundations, Law, Regulation & Policy, and Systems Expertise towards the New Jersey Association for Infant Mental Health Competency and Endorsement System.
